At TSS, we empower primary school children to explore sustainability through fun, hands-on STEAM activities that spark creativity, curiosity, and care for the planet.
See how we integrate sustainability into STEAM:

STEAM Learning for Curious, Creative, and Conscious Kids
Our Vision:
To grow a generation of curious, creative, and conscious kids who lead the way to a sustainable future.
Our Mission:
-
Embed sustainability through hands-on STEAM learning and creative storytelling that builds lifelong curiosity and care for the planet.
-
Cultivate creative thinking and problem-solving through real-world application.
-
Empower children to see themselves as capable contributors to a more sustainable future.
Our Pedagogy:
Our curriculum brings sustainability to life through interactive STEAM activities and meaningful stories. By combining hands-on exploration with practical knowledge, children not only learn how the world works — they discover their place in it and how they can make a difference.
“We shall require a new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive.” — Albert Einstein

How it Works
Introducing our ACCER™ framework

We use mostly recycled materials in our sessions, ensuring they are easy-to-get and friendlier to the environment
Every learner is empowered to think critically, ask questions, and test ideas through problem solving
Equip learners with the ability to express ideas, take initiatives and suggest solutions - there's no right or wrong!

Explore sustainability through everyday topics (such as nature, energy) while grasping essential STEAM knowledge
Learn by doing, not just listening. See the real changes as you make sustainable choices naturally in daily life!
Why it Matters Now
Children are growing up in a world where sustainability is important — but often taught in ways that feel abstract, overwhelming, or disconnected from daily life.
As a parent, you may be wondering:
-
How do I help my child truly understand and care about the world?
-
How can they apply what they learn, not just memorise it?
-
Where can I find meaningful learning that goes beyond screens and worksheets?
We bridge the gap between learning and doing
At The Sustainable School, we turn sustainability from something children hear about into something they experience, practise, and live. Through guided, hands-on STEAM activities embedded with sustainable values, children explore in ways that are:

Meet the Founder
Alice 💁🏻♀️
This is Alice Yu Yuebo — a mum, educator, and researcher who believes that science and storytelling make the best kind of school supplies.
By day, she’s pursuing her PhD in sustainability marketing at Otago Business School. By heart, she’s on a mission to turn big ideas (like climate change, clean energy, and circular fashion) into joyful, hands-on lessons that actually make sense to kids.
Alice has worked in marketing, science communication, and education across Singapore, China, and New Zealand — but her favourite job title so far?
"Mum, what’s this?” interpreter.
She created The Sustainable School to grow curious, creative, and conscious kids — and to remind grown-ups that learning can be playful, purposeful, and planet-loving too. 🌏💡
Meet the Advisor
Jimmy 👦🏻
This is Jimmy — age 8, full of questions, and officially The Sustainable School’s Youngest (and Most Honest) Advisor for All Things Curious.
Jimmy loves building things, asking “why?” a hundred times a day, and turning cardboard boxes into spaceships. He keeps Alice (his mum and TSS founder!) on her toes by constantly asking big questions like:
“Why do bees know where to go?” 🐝
“Can trees talk to each other?” 🌳
“What if we ran out of electricity?” ⚡
He says STEAM learning is the best because it’s “like doing magic, but with real stuff.”
Also, he thinks experiments with slime or solar panels should be done every day.
When he's not advising on TSS lesson ideas, Jimmy enjoys making origami dragons, climbing things he's probably not supposed to, and eating fried rice very seriously.
Thanks to Jimmy, we’re always reminded:
The best ideas often start with a wild question. 💭✨
