🌱 Welcome to The Sustainable School
We’re a school without walls, a movement to turn sustainability from something children hear about into something they experience, practise, and live.
Founded by Alice Yu Yuebo, a doctoral researcher in sustainability and passionate science communicator, we help children aged 5-15 build real-world habits and future-ready thinking through hands-on STEAM learning without adding pressure to busy parents.
Our vision is simple: to grow curious, creative, and conscious eco-leaders, wherever they are.

Hearing what they say about TSS

I really enjoyed collaborating with the Sustainable School on a Bioblitz event held at Otago University recently. Alice is lovely to work with, and her workshop was very successful in creatively engaging tamariki from the university childcare centres in the biodiversity around them. The nature art was fun, interactive and looked great – and it didn’t end up just being the tamariki who got involved! I’m very grateful for this collaboration and would highly recommend Alice’s workshops for introducing kids to science and nature in a fun and immersive way.
